PRP’s award-winning intergenerational scheme of 170 mixed-tenure units responds to the recommendations of the HAPPI reports, and serves as an exemplar for setting attractive contemporary retirement apartments at the heart of urban regeneration.
The design provides a ‘core and cluster’ arrangement: five residential clusters, each with its own vertical circulation core, form a C-shaped block, superseding the traditional central corridor extra care typology.
Integration with the wider community comes through sharing the extensive communal facilities which include village hall, bar, restaurant and spa facilities. The garden, roof terrace and spacious private balconies to all apartments enhance the development’s external-facing aspects.
