Bentley House awarded Retrofit for the Future prize by Hertfordshire County Council

By PRP – 21 March 2016

PRP's Bentley House has received the 'Retrofit for the Future' award at Hertfordshire County Council's Building Futures Awards 2015.

The awards recognise projects that demonstrate sustainability, innovation, and high-quality design in response to environmental challenges, with the Retrofit for the Future category rewarding schemes which have improved the quality and extended the life of a building.

The luxury care home for Signature Senior Lifestyle, offers residential, nursing and dementia care for 85 residents. Converted from a vacant five-storey mid-80’s office building, the development is a great example of how redundant office buildings can be successfully revitalised for residential use.

The award ceremony was held at the Old Palace, Hatfield House on Wednesday 16 March.
