Double success for Willow Barns- winning a Housing Design Award and LABC Award

By PRP – 11 July 2017

Willow Barns, a 75-bed extra care scheme in Stoke-on-Trent for the Sapphire Consortium, has won a Housing Design Award in the 'HAPPI Completed' category - continuing an unbroken seven-year, eight win tally for PRP, since the HAPPI category's initiation in 2010.

The scheme was also crowned winner of the Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development in the LABC Building Excellence Awards, West Midlands.

Willow Barns, a development for over-55s, incorporates a series of contemporary barn-like wings linked by glass bridges, in a design which carefully responds to retained former barns on the site, the surrounding residential neighbourhood, significant changes in level and a sensitive landscape setting.

The full list of winning and shortlisted schemes is available on the Housing Design Awards website. Similarly, the full list of LABC winners is listed here.
