We are delighted to announce the launch of the second edition of our Landscape Design Principles for Dementia Care factsheet, produced in conjunction with Housing LIN. This must-have resource provides essential guidance for anyone involved in the design and development of housing for older people with cognitive and sensory impairment, focusing specifically on landscape design principles.

Our factsheet covers fundamental principles to consider when designing for individuals living with dementia, their families, and care providers. It also draws attention to landscape design considerations for people with dementia within the NHS.

Our landscape team at PRP has extensive experience in creating external spaces for older people and vulnerable adults, and they have contributed their expertise to the development of the factsheet. It has been updated to include examples of industry-accepted good practice in landscape design, emphasising the crucial role of well-designed landscaped gardens in enhancing residents' quality of life. It highlights their potential to promote physical and mental health, while also mitigating the impact of cognitive decline.
