Portobello Square to feature in Re/making The Street Exhibition
Next week sees the opening of Re/making The Street at the Building Centre. Curated by the Built Environment Trust and part of the 2016 London Festival of Architecture, the exhibition will look at how residential urban streets are much more than just roads, they are individual, rich environments that make, shape and support communities and society.
As its centrepiece, visitors will get to walk through a scale model of Bonchurch Road, one of the streets at the heart of the Portobello Square regeneration scheme. The installation will be used as a platform to explore the complexity of creating new streets that are dense enough to meet our housing needs, yet also encompass healthy, socially cohesive spaces and encourage flourishing communities.
The exhibition will run from 17 June - 29 July at The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London. WC1E 7BT.
