Cheviot Gardens commended at the National Housing Awards

By PRP – 10 September 2018

Cheviot Gardens, the striking extra care housing scheme designed by PRP for Notting Hill Genesis, has been commended at the National Housing Awards in the 'Best Design' category.

The exemplary development in West Norwood, London, provides 84 affordable apartments for residents over the age of 55, with attractive gardens and an extensive range of support facilities, some of which are open to the wider community.

The judges praised the project stating: "Cheviot Gardens is a great looking scheme in a fabulous location which created an affordable option in an expensive area. The judges thought it offered an attractive weaving design in an appealing garden setting for the over 55s, and was modestly scaled to fit with the local architectural context. A wonderful replacement of old homes by new, which retains great sustainable properties."
