PRP announces the publication of its report, "Fire safety: Specialised housing and care homes," commissioned by The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG). This in-depth research contributes directly to the government’s ongoing Continuous Review of Approved Document B (ADB).

The report assesses if current design guidance and fire safety regulations effectively address the unique needs of specialised housing in England, covering typologies such as retirement, supported, housing with care, and nursing homes. Its findings aim to enhance existing guidance and ensure the highest safety standards for vulnerable residents.

Conducted over an extended period by PRP’s dedicated Later Living team and fire safety specialists, with invaluable support from expert industry representatives, this research was published by MHCLG alongside other valuable fire safety studies, marking a significant step forward in safeguarding vulnerable residents.
