PRP secures planning on landmark mixed-use scheme in Redhill
PRP and Coplan Estates, working with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, have obtained planning consent for a multimillion pound mixed-use, build to rent scheme in Redhill, Surrey.
Marketfield Way is a landmark development that features a six-screen cinema, eleven glass-fronted shops and restaurants on the ground and first floors, as well as 153 studio, one and two bedroom apartments above.
The scheme maximises active frontages, engaging with the streets surrounding the scheme on all sides. A pedestrian route through the heart improves permeability, creating a connection from the High Street through to Marketfield Way. The proposals are contemporary, whilst referencing the permanence, craft and articulation demonstrated in the neighbouring Victorian brick buildings.
The development will replace the Council’s Marketfield Road surface car park plus twelve shops with offices above in the High Street, opposite the main entrance to The Belfry Shopping Centre.
Plans were unanimously approved by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s Planning Committee, with a number of Councillors praising PRP for the design.
