Smart Regeneration at Clapham Park wins Building award
PRP's Smart Regeneration approach at Clapham Park won 'Digital and BIM Initiative of the Year' at last night's Building Awards. Our entry was selected from a short list of nine, including technology and project entries from Multiplex, Mace and Sir Robert McAlpine.
Underpinned by strategic BIM planning, our Smart Regeneration initiative fosters a culture of ‘design ownership’ with everyone able to contribute positively to the process.
At Clapham Park this enabled a collaborative, multi-disciplinary design to BIM Level 2 for 2,532 new homes and community infrastructure, in a single detailed planning application, in just nine months.
Nitesh Mistry, Commercial Director, Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing said: "Recognising the scale and programming ambitions at Clapham Park we knew the whole project team needed to think and behave differently!
The BIM initiatives deployed on this project established detail and early confidence in the design and cost model, in turn supporting our business planning and risk management. Our design team delivered a high level of component standardisation within a diverse portfolio of building typologies. This will deliver procurement efficiencies in due course and feeds into our long term strategies for specification control and asset management.
Our recent planning success is a massive achievement for the whole team and one more step towards our objective of transformational change for Clapham Park and our vision of a more intelligent and efficient future for regeneration in London."
