Theatre of Architecture created at Open House Families weekend
Over 100 kids and their families took part in PRP's Theatre of Architecture event at this year's Open Families festival last weekend.
Volunteers from PRP invited children to create costumes inspired by London's favourite buildings, and bring them to life in a fun and dynamic architecture theatre!
Children created a variety of costumes from those resembling Big Ben to others inspired by castles and fortresses. They then had the opportunity to be photographed amongst coloured cut outs of London's iconic architecture, and buildings of their own creation!
The sun came out for this year's festival, which took place in Gasholder Park. Now in its fifth year, the festival (previously known as Archikids) is organised by Open City and is designed to inspire the next generation of city-shapers.
Architects from PRP are also actively involved in Open City's learning programme Architecture in Schools, engaging with the talented children at Bursted Wood Primary School in design workshops that reimagine their local centre, transforming it into a “fun, fit and relaxing shared city”!
