Smithy Croft fosters the independence of older residents in a community setting with care and support tailored to individual need. Communal facilities within the 55-unit extra care housing complement village amenities, while the building’s modern design harmonises with its surroundings using brickwork in the local vernacular. The predominant brick is a light buff with a secondary accent brick in a darker tone used at the base to articulate the façade and reduce the scale.

The scheme’s layout creates garden and amenity areas that are sheltered, warm and inviting, to actively encourage use by residents and visitors from the community alike.
