This scheme is located on the former Cattle Market site close to the historic centre of Stratford-upon-Avon. An exciting gateway site adjacent to the main railway station, it will create an enchanting new identity to the edge of this world famous market town.

The proposals include a rich mixed-tenure housing scheme with 29 new houses, 58 general needs apartments, 102 extra care apartments and an element of retail space.

The design works within a previously consented and implemented road layout. The higher density extra care accommodation is located to the southern edge of the site presenting a series of striking gable forms to the Alcester Road frontage giving the scheme a strong architectural presence.

There is a transition in scale towards the northern part of the site where the two and three storey houses are arranged in streets and within innovative new mews to the northeast corner, an area left undeveloped on the previous consent.

The landscape design creates a delightful new public realm which includes a pocket park adjacent to the main entrance, a community play space, public café terraces and beautiful private gardens as well as a roof terrace to the extra care building.
