PRP

Arbeta is the third project (alongside The Space Project and The Sharp Project) designed by PRP's Manchester Studio, which will help grow the creative and digital sectors within the region.

The project involves the remodelling of an existing underperforming office building to provide adaptable workspace for larger businesses within the sector. These may be new tenants or those migrating from or connected to the other buildings within the client's portfolio.

The existing building, triangular in plan form, has a large external landscaped courtyard enclosed by three blocks of office accommodation.

To improve the quality of the workspace, maximise the lettable area and enhance activity within the courtyard, internal courtyard walls were removed to maximise natural light. Relocating the horizontal circulation to the perimeter of the courtyard frees up space for tenants to interact. Enclosing the courtyard with an ETFE roof has enabled the creation of a shared amenity and co-working space.
