Andrew has particular experience in large scale regeneration, residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. He leads PRP’s Development Consultancy and its Research team, and he is also responsible for the sustainability performance of the practice.
Andrew’s team provide a wide range of services to development and asset management clients, associated with project delivery and the operation of buildings. His role involves providing strategic corporate advice to clients, as well as on development projects and with regard to existing buildings. Andrew is a technical advisor to MHCLG on Building Regulations and Building Safety analytical work and he has an excellent understanding of the forthcoming Building for a Safer Future legislation.
Andrew’s expertise is in construction quality and defect analysis, facade replacement, fire safety, regulatory and standards compliance, sustainable development, zero carbon buildings, efficient building operation, health and wellbeing, climate change resilience, low carbon retrofit, post occupancy evaluation, electric vehicle infrastructure and corporate sustainability strategies. He is currently reviewing the facade compliance, in relation to fire safety, of a number of buildings for developers and landlords including leading the facade replacement work. He has much experience of directing integrated research and development projects to develop new legislation and policy, innovative construction products, delivery processes and technical solutions both in the UK and internationally. He also produces guidance and process documentation, provides training, undertakes strategic corporate consultancy and expert witness services for clients.
Andrew is a member of a number of industry advisory groups and leader’s networks. He is a tutor at NYU London on building re-use and a technical columnist for Building Design. He is also a regular speaker at industry conferences.
